A Married Couple Becomes Distressed About Their Hazardous And Excessive Drinking And Starts To Suffer Through Stress, Time, And Anger Management Difficulties

Jerry and Sarah have been married for five years. They wanted to experience some excitement and fun before they decided to have a family and so they deliberately created an incredibly exciting social life.

The key problem, it needs to be highlighted, is that virtually everything they do to have fun is related to drinking. As an illustration, all of the parties with friends, happy hours, dinner engagements, sporting events, and family get-togethers they patronize somehow include drinking.

Lastly, Jerry has been having sleep-related problems and his family has begun to display some disquiet about his drinking difficulties.

In a similar way, Sarah has been feeling unhappy about things in her life and to deal with these feelings, she has been drinking more often than any time in the past eight months. Moreover, Sarah has been getting quite a few painful migraines and suffering from dreadful hangovers due to her drinking. Lastly, Sarah has been feeling substantially less energetic in the morning, she has been getting to work late at least two days per week, and she has been receiving some unhelpful criticism from her family members, coworkers, friends, and relatives about her abusive drinking.

In addition to the above mentioned alcohol induced difficulties, Jerry and Sarah began to face anger, time, and stress management difficulties.  Clearly that their problem drinking was adversely affecting virtually every facet of their lives.

Watching the TV and Going Through the Channels and Finding A Special Documentary About the Signs of Alcohol Dependency

One Wednesday evening while watching the television, Jerry and Sarah inadvertently discovered a documentary about the signs of alcoholism.

This television documentary was a real surprise to Jerry and Sarah because quite a few of the alcoholism signs that were featured appeared as if they were directly related to numerous alcohol-related drinking problems Jerry and Sarah had been experiencing.

A Candid Discussion About Drinking Circumstances Exposes Alcohol Related Health, Employment, Relationship, Legal, and Financial Problems

After watching the TV program, Sarah and Jerry decided to have an open discussion about their drinking behavior. They both concurred that most, if not all, of their social pursuits somehow included drinking, that they were drinking irresponsibly, and that as a couple, they were starting to make note of alcohol related health, legal, relationship, financial, and employment problems for the first time since they were married.

With thoughts of the television program still running through her mind, Sarah asked Jerry if some of the alcohol dependency signs they have been displaying could mean that they are addicted to alcohol or perhaps becoming alcoholic. Jerry didn’t know the answer to Sarah’s question and so he suggested that they schedule an appointment with one of the healthcare practitioners at the nearby drug and alcohol abuse rehabilitation clinic to find out more about the severity of their drinking problems.

Paradoxically, although their drinking circumstances hadn’t yet changed, it was clear to see that Jerry and Sarah were at the very least tackling their drinking problems, they were enthusiastic about finding out more about their drinking behavior, and they were interested in finding out how they could notably cut down the severity or get rid of the drinking-related problems that had begun to escalate. When Jerry and Sarah went to bed that night, they made up their minds that the next morning, Jerry would call and make an appointment for both of them at the alcohol rehab center located just East of the State Capital. After they made a promise to one another that they would do whatever it takes to defeat the drinking difficulties that had materialized in their lives, they in point of fact had the most energizing night’s sleep they could remember in the last eight weeks.

Just before he fell asleep, Jerry turned to Sarah and observed how simple it is to lower one’s sense of dread and in point of fact experience a sense of calm by tackling one’s problems head-on and deciding to do something positive about them.
